WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND?
I am a proud Detroit native, raised on the city’s West side right outside the Boston-Edison District, where I gained a strong sense of community pride. I earned my high school diploma from Detroit School of Arts, where I developed a deep appreciation for the city’s cultural richness. Fueled by community pride and love for the city of Detroit, I went on to earn my bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Studies with a concentration in Community Development, History, and Culture.
Immediately after college, I began my career as a Client Care Coordinator with AmeriCorps at Rebuilding Together Southeast Michigan, where I planned community outreach events and mobilized volunteers for critical home repairs. I then transitioned to the role of Service-Learning Coordinator at Elite School Management, designing and managing district-wide initiatives to build students' problem-solving and advocacy skills.
Currently, I serve as a Program Administrator at Michigan Community Resources, where I support nonprofit organizations by coordinating with professional consultants, contributing to fund development, and representing MCR at public forums.
What drew you to MCR?
I was drawn to MCR because of its strong commitment to building capacity and creating sustainable change for the nonprofit ecosystem.
Coming onto the team, I hope to contribute to expanding MCR’s impact by enhancing our collaborative efforts with nonprofits, expanding the Dovetail platform for providers and nonprofits, and helping to empower the people and communities I encounter.
What superpower would you choose for yourself and why?
If I could have any superpower I would have the ability to time travel. I would use this power to travel the world and visit different periods of history and glance into the future.
